Why does my left knee click when i bend it
When i bend my left knee slightly more than 45 degrees, it makes a loud clicking noise, it doesn't do it with my right but it creeps people out at karate when i go into stance.
A Couple of months ago i used to have incredibly bad knees, they would ache and leave me in agony for anything up to about half an hour after i straighten them from being bent, at karate this was so bad since we're constantly going into low stances with a lot of stress on your legs, it isn't bad now, but sometimes after prolonged amounts of time in stance it really hurts when i come back up, any suggestions?
Answer:With what you've said, especially if it is happen every time you bend your knee. I would think patellofemoral dysfunction-- basically your knee cap isn't tracking (moving) right. If you've had moments when you're knee as "caught" or buckled I'd be more inclined to think a meniscal tear. If you are older (35+) you might have a little osteoarthritis beginning to develop in your knees. If its not really bothering you don't worry too much about it. If its painful see your physician, he'll likely take some diagnostic imaging to discern what is causing the problem and send you off to physical therapy. For the moment I'd say avoid your deep stances, take some Aleve, Ibuprofen, or Excedrin for the pain. Good luck.
old age.
its just a pocket of air in your knee joint releasing, you prob have signs of arthritis
