Why does my left eye feel irritated when i have contacts on
i do have dry eyes but the second i put my contacts on i usually take the left one out and rinse it cuz it feels like its dirty or something.... my eye feels like it has an eyelash or somethin
Answer:Check the contact carefully for tears or rips. I would assume that you have soft contact lenses in 2007 but if not then you may need to take them to the optometrist to have them polished and cleaned. I would toss that contact out if they are disposable lenses and open a fresh one. If the fresh lens still causes the same symptoms I would advise you to wear your glasses instead and call your optometrist to get possible solutions for your problem. You may need to have your cornea's checked for ulcerations or scratches.
My doctor suggests a moisturizing eye ointment to be applied at bedtime for dry eyes. He suggested trying something over the counter first and that really helps me during the spring allergy season.
Possibly the contact isn't shaped correctly for your eye. I had issues with mine and finally gave up, the dryness was unreal.

Don't fool around with your eyes. This is a question you should be asking your optometrist. I sometimes get something in my eye, but almost always my contacts feel comfortable. If yours aren't comfortable you should talk to a professional.
You might have an abrasion on your cornea... I had this problem after YEARS (25) of wearing contacts all day, everyday (only took them out at night). I was a "contact lens abuser" and what I did was damage the surface of my eye. Ended up having to see a specialist, stop the contacts completely, used drops for weeks and finally it healed up. It might be a good idea to see your eye doctor if you do rule out an eyelash or maybe a flaw in the contact. Good luck!
