Why does my hand tingle and hurt when I sleep
I wake up about half way through the night with my arm tingling and hurting from my elbow to my hand. I am wondering if anyone knows how to get rid of this? thanks
Answer:Sounds like it could be carpal tunnel syndrome.

or
-An injury to the muscles, ligaments, or tendons.
-A broken bone (fracture).
-A dislocated bone (one end of a bone is pulled or pushed out of its normal position).
-Nerve problems in the fingers, elbow, or neck.
-Certain conditions, such as obesity, rheumatoid arthritis, diabetes, lupus, or hypothyroidism. (These conditions can also contribute to carpal tunnel syndrome.)
-Arthritis in the thumb joint or wrist.
hang the arm out of the bed thats what i do you have probably just slept on it awkwardly
Might be poor circulation, too many guesses w/o testing
Mine was from a Vit B-12 defeciency
This maybe Carpel Tunnel.
I would call my doctor.
The doctor may give you vitamins, brace, and may have to have surgery if this is Carpel Tunnel.
My husband had the same thing as you have said above. This was Carpel Tunnel.
You may want to research the internet for Carpel Tunnel.
do you use the computer alot? if so it might be from somthing they call carpal tunnel syndrome where all the nerves in your hand get pinched alot and your hand starts to tingle and hurt especially at night. rehebilitative occupational thearpy might be good for it and there are other solutions you cant try to. but once you have it you really cant get rid of it completley. it wont hurt all the time but there will be those times when you think its gone and it just comes back
You have a nerve pinched off...either by sleeping on it or by injury. You should get this checked out.
You don鈥檛 have to get worried about it. It could be because there is not enough blood circulation due to perhaps disuse atrophy or perhaps due to the fact that part of your body was at rest for two or three hours. You can find good home remedies for this. I did find some at http://ailments.in/peripheralneuropathy....
Maybe poor circulation but it sounds like you might have carpal tunnel syndrome. Check it out with doctor.
You may have carpal tunnel in your wrists and/ or cervical (neck) disc problems. I have both. The symptoms you describe could be either one. Neither problem ever really goes away. A wrist brace worn while I sleep helps me. I have had both disorders long enough to deal with the pain and to recognize whether it is bone pain, nerve pain, muscle pain, etc., but that took a long time to learn. Braces are a wonderful thing. If I don't have just the right pillow my neck goes wonky and I wake up with numb hands, arms. Talk to your regular doc and ask if you should see a neurologist. The tingling/pain occurs when nerves are pinched somewhere, maybe in your wrist (CT) or a disc in your spine/neck is out of kilter and needs attention. Sometimes there is a bone spur, a growth off the spine that crowds a nerve, "pinching" it, causing tingling and/or pain. If your symptoms just started, I would think wearing a wrist brace a few nights a week, and getting a good pillow for your neck would be beneficial. See your doc. Don't wait for it to get worse. It will!
