Why does my back hurt Negative CT, Negative X-ray post Car Accident
Hi Guys, I was in an accident on jan 4 2007. Initially my back hurt, but the pain was not really bad. But perhaps 2-3 weeks after the accident my back now hurts really, really bad. I had a cervical spine ct that was negative. I had a thoracic spine x-ray that was negative. My back pain is a sharp burning pain around the L1-T12 region. I don't know if the thoracic ct will show that. Anyways, at least there are no fractures in the cervical spine or thoracic spine.
I don't feel like my doctor really believes my pain. I never complain of back, but this is really frustrating, since nothing shows up on the exams.
Has anyone had a similar experience after a car crash? If so, how long did your pain last, and what did you do to alleviate it?
Answer:If there are no fractures try an osteopath. You might have misaligned your vertabrae. It seems too long ago to be musculoskeletal pain.
try getting a second opinion it doesnt hurt
maybe this next x-ray will help
I am getting an MRI done at the end of this month as mine hurts something fearse too so good luck
I would really recommend that you do some stretching exercises to limber your back up. This is important to keep mobility and lessen the pain.
On all fours, arch your back up and make it very rounded, hold it like that for 10 seconds and repeat this 5 - 10 times.
Then arch your back down so your back sinks in the middle and hold for 10 seconds and repeat 5 - 10 times.
