Why does my ankle hurt so much
My ankle hurts to the point of almost not being able to walk. I don't have arthritis, I don't remember twisting or spraining my ankle, it's not swollen, or discolored, even the emergency room couldn't find anything after 3 x-rays! I seems to hurt more after a lot of physical activity or a full day of work. (I work at Home Depot and walk on cement.) But it can also hurt just by sitting around, or after a night of sleep, so yeah, why ouch?
Answer:i am not trying to be rude, but are you over weight? every time i gain just a lil bit of weight that my body can't handle, i feel it in my knees and ankles. walkin all day on that concrete could definetly give you heal spurs. are you sure it dosent hurt in the heal?
I got the same problem (for more than a month) as yours when I have incorrect lifting of weights. I have xrays too and no problem was detected. I also take anti-inflamatary meds and pain releiver, as well as sports patches, liniment. Until I consulted an ortophedic surgeon. He advice me to move my joint slowly in normal position. Then I applied Voltaren (Diclofenac) Emulgel. It can be bought as over the counter meds. A hot compress and cold compress, plus the emulgel, the pain was totally gone after 3 days. Goodluck. Mostlikely yours is a sprain.
I will almost promise you that if you were to run your hand up or down your leg you will find tender spots where the muscle has a knot called a trigger point. They are the cause of the pain. For getting it back to bearable see a massage therapist.
