when it is cold, my fingers go purple and in some places they go orange. Why is this?
Answer:When you get very cold, your body tries to keep itself warm. Blood goes to important places like the chest and head, and extremities like fingers and toes do not get as much blood. This can be dangerous because the tissue will die if it is deprived of oxygen for too long. This is called frostbite. The area will turn black.
However, it sounds like you might just have poor blood circulation. Ask your doctor at your next visit. Until then, wear gloves and other winter clothes to stay warm!
Blood circulation.
Your blood circulation is affected and it shows up in the extremeties. Your toes probably are affected the same way. Is important to protect hands, feet, nose and ears in very cold weather.
You could have Raynaud's syndrome. Check out this site.
