Answer:

Sorry, but this sounds like a migraine. Mostly it's women that get them, I noticed your avatar is a male. Maybe that is why you didn't realize it is a migraine. (you can google migraine for more info).

What works? Over the counter: Best med. is Excedrin.

But the meds. a doctor can give you are better. They are not every day meds. You just take it when you get a migraine and it knocks it out of there.

Migraine go to the doctors.
I have these headaches that feel like little lightning bolts. They can occur anywhere in my head, and they seem to almost pulsate. Anyway, I recently found out that they are called "cluster headaches" and they really don't know why they occur. Could your headaches be the same thing?
It could be many things, but quite possibly migraines. However, no one can properly diagnose this except your physician or a neurologist. Make an appointment soon and make sure it is not something very serious like a aneurysm which could be fatal.
See a doctor he'll advise you to go see an appropriate specialist.
Sounds like a migraine. You'll need to see your doctor.
Any long term headache is usually diagnosed as "mirgraines", and are therefore untreatable and only controllable by drugs. However, due to the very nature of the disorder, most are not diagnosed correctly. Here are some common possiblities that are, in fact, completely treatable.
