Why do I feel like passing electricity sometimes when I touch others or metalic things
When the air is dry, with little humidity, it is easy for your body to build up a static electrical charge. This can happen simply by walking, or sliding across a car seat. When you touch metal, the charge passes through your body because the metal object is grounded. I've even gotten a shock at a drinking fountain as water is also a conductor. Other than a slight jolt, and a surprise, it is mostly harmless. If it is dark, you usually can see an actual spark. If the built up charge is significant, and you are in an environment where there are explosive vapors, it could potentially be dangerous. That's why when using solvents, or other petroleum based products, you are advised to do so in a well ventilated place. Isn't nature wonderful and mysterious?
