You can. They just warn you not to because some people will insert it too far and possibly cause damage to their ear drum.

If you are careful there really is no danger, although some believe that you are merely pushing the cerumen (ear wax) deeper in.

because our elbows are stuck in there.....remember when our mothers said dont put anything in your ear smaller than your elbow? Well the frikken thing is stuck in there, might need a back hoe.

Actually my Doctor said that you actually need some of that wax in there... So don't totally clean yourself out. He said that is the reason why some people get ear aches believe it or not... Sorry, I can't remember why he said we needed the ear wax though...

You should push it in as far as you can...then get a ball peen hammer and pound on it. Try that and report back!

Because some people go in too far, and end up causing more injury to the inner ear, or the drum. Q-tips were made to clean the outer part of the ear, and the first part of the ear, not to go into the canal. Just the other day someone on Answers asked how can I get the cotton out of my ear,from a Q-tip. (perfect example)

you can its your ear. the reason you should not put anything smaller then your elbow in your ear is because you push the wax in . make a clog and can tear rip irratate the skin . you can also break the ear drum .
