health advisory Hospital Health care 2007-11-14 16:20:28

Hi ya ive just returned from skiing on friday and since ive been back my fingers where they join my palms are killing my. its like an aching pain and im unable to grip hold of anything without it hurting

Answer:

the tendons in your hands have swollen because of your grip on the ski poles.

take some alleve to reduce inflammation

First question, did you wear gloves, if not it will be the cold and/or wind burn

Second question, are you a regular skier or was it your 1st time, if 1st time your hands are just not used to gripping for so long, in time it will reduce.

coz u are afraid of falling down, so u probably hold that ski poles so tight that it hurts when u are ready.... know wut I mean, hehe
I don't know about that but the first time I went skiing I spent the whole eight hours with my feet hurting while everyone I was with told me that was normal so I sucked it up. At the end of the day when I took off my boots my two big toe nails were black and blue and then they fell off which sucked. I'm just saying be careful!!!
Perhaps it is muscular because you were holding on to your poles too tight. Try heat.
