Like everyone else has said, have your iron level checked. Depression may be another factor.
Do you exercize at all? I seem to have way more energy since I started running with the weather warming up. Something you could also try. :)
You need to make a doctors appointment and have a through check-up.

Changes in sleeping habits can be caused by hormonal or chemical changes in the body, stress and even thyroid problems.

If you have begun to go through perimenopause, or menopause you can experience changes in sleeping habits and needs.

You could actually be suffering from mild depression and SAD which is a body reaction to the long grey days of winter.

You will also need to research the types of foods that you are consuming, and may need to begin taking a high quality multivitamin in order to help your body stay strong and alert.

Please have the medical checkup first and keeping a daily journal of sleep patterns, foods eaten and exercise will help to pinpoint problems which could be contributing to your sleep problems.

I would say check your iron levels.
6hrs on the weekend really isn't enough. there are some people that can live with that, but a doctor will tell you that 7-9 per night is where you want to be. Also, this has to be uninterrupted sleep. do you have a problem that keeps waking you up at night? If you wake up several times during the night then your 8 hrs of sleep will actually feel like 4 or 5. You can also make changes to your diet and eat more fruits that have natural sugars and drink more water. Drinking water during the day is supposed to be better than coke or coffee actually. If you go on a long trip water will help you avoid jet lag too.
