My venture crew wants to get certified- we're training to go to Philmont in the 08 summer.
Answer:Red Cross, community college, and your local hospitals sometimes offer these type of classes for a minimal fee.
You can contact your local community college, they provide classes for a small fee, probably around 100 dollars or less. You can also contact your local fire dept, you may be able to receive the training free through them. Good luck.
go to ur ocal college and sign up for first aid if ur claiming benefits e.g. job seekers, disability or have a nhs card then it wud be free if not it ranges from 拢80-200 includes the end exam
Been to Philmont as an Eagle Scout,you're gonna love it!Call your local hospital and ask them to direct you to the closest American Heart Assn.CPR/AED First aid course.This will cover urban and rural situations such as falls,bites,plant poisoning,injured patient carries,splinting,etc.,etc.You may consider asking your local Boy Scout troop for additional assistance along with the course.Believe it or not,any Boy Scout above the rank of First Class is well trained in what you are seeking including Search & Rescue,and would jump at the opportunity to teach people their skills.
your local st john ambulance or red cross will be your best bet they run regular courses in all areas best of luck its worth while
