whole blood, platlets, whatever i give when i give a double?

Answer:

there is not one blood type that is in more demand than another. the are just used for different procedures, like transfusions...ect

platelets as well as plasma and white cell donations are greatly appretiated.

ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING is needed!!!! If you have a rare blood type you especially need to donate, the shortage of blood is outrageous please donate!!!!!!!!!

I was a blood donor for a year when I ended up having an emergency transfusion that saved my life and it took 4 units to do it. so please think of how you can save someone elses life by donating anything.

O+ anyone can use it straight from the bottle or vein. Problem O+ people cannot use other people's crap. tough stuff, huh.

Well all blood types are needed. AB is the universal recipient.This does not mean, however, that any type of donor blood may be safely given to an individual who has type AB blood without first cross-matching. Other agglutinins may be present in the so-called universal recipient blood and clump unidentified antigens (agglutinogens) in the donor's blood.

Because type O blood does not contain either antigen A or B, it has been referred to as universal donor blood, a term that implies that it can safely be given to any recipient.
