Answer:

I know everyone says there are symptoms, but please if you even think you have a clot, go to your doctor and ask for a dopler. I had NO symptoms at all, and ended up with a pulmonary embolism (blood clot in my lung). I nearly died and was in the hospital on blood thinners for 11 days. I then spent 6 months on blood thinners (coumadine). Most scarey time of my life. There is not always a symptom, so if you THINK you might have one for whatever reason, go please and talk to your doctor.

I want to know this too, I get this cramp in my right leg. I guess it is not really a cramp but just a pain... I can't really explain it, but it doesn't hurt all the time!

My friend just had surgery for a blood clot in her leg. She felt pain and numbness in that leg. Her leg felt cold due to poor circulation.

Depends on if its in an artery or a vein. Venous clots tend to produce pain, swelling, heat and redness. They can be life threatening, as they can break loose and travel to the lungs, causing a pulmonary embolism. Arterial clots are an emergency as well. The symptoms are coldness of the area below the clot, blanching/mottling of the skin, and pain. If left untreated, loss of the limb can occur.

I had a blood clot once and it HURTS, You can't walk cause every step is like having nails stuck into your leg from every angle. It will swell immensely, it hurts to bend your leg, it just hurts all the time. You need to see a doctor if you think you have a blood clot because they grow and it could detach and go to your lungs or heart and it could kill you.
