I might be put in one to help me get healthy.
Answer:They vary hugely from excellent to not so good. You need to look at the place. Take note of general appearance, how it smells, what the other residents look like (happy, depressed, busy, etc). Are the staff friendly and willing to let you wander around and talk to people. A biggie is are they willing for you to turn up any time, not at a set time which suits them. Is visiting open or restricted, open visiting is always a good sign! If its for health reasons you need to check out their plans and qualifications of the people they employ.
A good home will be friendly and therapeutic, will help you gain whatever you need to go back to an independent life.
First of all, you should definitely go check it out before commiting to staying there. If they're not willing to let you tour and talk with other residents then it's probably not the best choice. Observe the other people staying there and see how they appear. Are they clean, dressed, and look at their fingernails. If they all have nice well taken care of fingernails it's a good sign. Ask the other residents how they like it. Believe me, they will let you know!
