i go ouch ouch but then actually count myself lucky and if going near the socket i'd have all the elecrtic off to remove it and be wary of plugs for a few hours.

I say "damn it". You were not electrocuted ( you wouldn't be alive) you were "shocked". The pain is in your head. The shock of a light switch does not do any damage that would cause pain.

your finger hurts because electricity burns. If you lost conciousness even for a few seconds or if you feel alot of mental confusion or have muscle control problems have someone take you to a hospital now. I it is just pain in your finger use cold water as if you were burned by a match.
