What do you do for someone who has a concussion, like should u keep ur eyes on them, wake them up
Anything will be good but please refrain from stupid responses this is very impt. thank u in advance.
Answer:When my daughter was younger, she fell off of a slide ladder that caused a concussion. She had to spend the night in the hospital and I remember the nurses coming in and waking her up every couple of hours and checking her vitals and talking with her to make sure she was coherent. I think the biggest concern is that the person falls into a very deep sleep and could go into a coma. So, just keep an eye on the person, make sure that they are not sleeping overly much and also make sure that when you talk with them, that they make sense and do not start talking gibberish. If any of that happens, they need to get to a hospital immediately.

You take them to the doctor, or an emergency room.
If a person has had a blow to the head, some of the signs of a possible concussion are, passing out, dizziness, nausea, a lump, and other things that are related to the specific area that has been hit,,, whether the part of the brain is the speech part, the visual area, or what. To get a sure diagnosis if there are such symptoms it is best to see a doctor and then do what s/he tells you to do.
I don't think you're supposed to let them fall asleep for fear of lapsing into a coma.
You should call 911 and keep and eye on them. They tend to vomit when waking up. Make sure they don't choke and the airway stays clear. I am concerned you posted this 24 minutes ago saying it is urgent. A concussion requires immediate emergency medicine. Go to the ER or call an ambulance. If it is not major the Doc will give you a freebie hopefully. They will look for proper dialation and signs of lucidity or clear headness to determine any brain damage. If there has been brain damage immediate surgery could be required. CALL A DOCTOR!!! I am not a doctor and I am not responsible for anything that happens to this person if you do or don't take my advice. Call a Doctor or 911.
yes wake every hour, watch for unresponsiveness, vomit, extreme pain the pupils of the eyes not equal in size. any signs of these go right to the emerg. Good luck
Who diagnosed "a concussion"? Was it the Doc? Has this person received a head injury? Listen this is VERY IMPORTANT! If for some reason this person is altered, or "not acting normally...like his usual self"..or absolutely if "you can't wake him up", you need to CALL 911!! If this person was seen by MD's and diagnosed with a concussion and sent home, yes you should "keep an eye on them"...however the same standard applies even if the Docs's saw him and he has changed since then {not acting normal)...get back to the MD or call 911.
