The person is healthy, does not take any medication & leads an active life.
Answer:Current BHS(British Hypertension Society) guidelines suggest any blood pressure below 150/90 is normal, if you are diabetic then figure drops down to 140/80.
so Answer is , if you are not diabetic, Your BP should be less than 150 over 90
Top number between 110-130
Bottom number between 70-90
Note that these are guidelines and everyones blood pressure runs slightly differently, just because someone is outside of this range that doesn't mean that there is a problem.
140 /90 is the top. If it gets more take medication prescribed by your Doctor.
Incidentally, beware The White Coat Syndrome ie an elevated reading when you quack takes it...
Yep, they are trying to get everyone at around 125/90 these days, but keep him off the beta blockers if you can. They are 'a penny a bucket' to quote my GP, so everybody prescribes them and they screw your life up in many ways. I have become an old man since taking them, and they are hard to kick, so be warned, whatever that smiling guy on 拢100,000 per annum might tell ya.
120/80. We no longer believe as we did when I was a student that BP rises with age. It should ideally be no more than 120/80 in adults of all ages.
