Tretin-X, Differin, and all of these acne medications say to apply at bedtime. Is there anything wrong with applying it at different times of the day instead of at night?

They told my daughter to use them at night because 1) they have a bleaching agent in them and they will stain her clothes she wears during the day so she just wears an old shirt and uses an old pillow case to sleep on and 2) they could react badly if she used them and then put on makeup or sweats at gym class and it could make her itch. Those are the 2 reasons her dermatologist gave her for using her Differin and Azalex at night and not in the morning. Hope that helps.
