What is the good the number for low and high sugar reading
many people have different readings due to different metabolism speeds, but the usual is from about 80 to 110 on an empty stomach and 120 to about 180 on a full stomach about 1 hour after a meal. but that number varies like I said due to different peopleand different foods eaten. This is for a healthy person with no symptoms of diabetes. those people with lower than normal blood sugar readings are more often than not hypoglycemic and usually need to eat various little snacks throughout the day to keep their sugar at a normal healthy level. Likewise those with high or very high blood sugar readings should be on medications or taking insulin shots to reduce their blood sugar readings to remain at a healthy level. Also a well balanced, low carb, low or no sugar diet will help. Check with your doctor and nutritionist if you think you have a problem. Diabetes is considered the fastest growing disease now, with thousands being diagnosed daily. My doctor told me that drinking a 12 ounce can of mountain dew soda (40 odd grams of sugar) is the equivalent of sitting down and eating a cup (8 ounces) of plain sugar. Now consider the amount of sugar in ANY so called energy drink, just read the nutrition facts on the back, about 70+ grams of sugar. I hope this info helps you.
Depending on the lab and the healthcare provider it can vary by a few insignificant numbers, but fasting is usually 80-110 and after eating should be less than 180.
anywhere between 70 and 120 is a good number
under 70 you need to grab some sugar
over 120 if it hits 200 or more thats a crisis.
Its too much sugar and too little insulin
