What is the fastest/most efficient way of curing rashes due to poison ivy
I have to go to a semi-formal tomorrow, but on teusday I was walking through the woods and next thing I knew I had had a poison ivy rash on my arm. Well I guess I scratched it withought noticing becauce now i have it on my other arm and a little bit on my face.
I dont really want to be going to a semi-formal with a rash on my face, and I have been applying a gel form of Benadryl to my face and arms, and have been trying my hardest not to scratch. By the looks of things, my treatment isn't working fast enough. So is there any faster way then this, or a better medicine that might be able to at least clear up the few small spots on my face by tomorrow night?
Answer:Go to the doctor or an urgent care clinic. They will probably prescribe prednisone. This works very quickly.
Calamine lotion will reduce the itching and help the rash heal faster, but it's hard to say if it will be gone by tomorrow.
If the rash has any open sores, you really shouldn't put make-up on them. That could lead to infection.
Good luck
i have heard mud
This one is really going to sound goofy - - - My 18 year old son swears by diluted bleach. In the past he has had it so bad he spent a week in the hospital. Now, when he gets it, he dilutes about 1/4 cup of bleach in a cup of water and wipes down the affected areas. It takes about 2 days for everything to dry up. With medications, including prednisone or other steroids it takes about a week to clear up.
This always worked on us when we were kids (50 years or so ago)... my dad used to make a paste of FRESH horseradish---get the real ROOT and grind it up and mix it with a bit of clorox bleach don't make it too thin or too thick--- apply it with a tongue depresser or your finger if you put rubber gloves on first... do NOT let it drip on the floor (clorox will bleach out whatever it drips on)...also wear a white T-shirt while applying it--- let the paste dry and then wipe off the excess leaving some on your skin----by tomorrow, almost ALL of the bumps will be gone... The horseradash you purchase in a Jar might work--it's just ground up horseradash root, but drain the liquid out first---you don't need MUCH to spread on your arm... it's not like you are going to pile it an inch thick or anything that drastic..
go to the drs. get some pills..thats the only way my poison went away fast
