Answer:
A febrile seizure is when someone has an extremely high temperature OR a temperature that rises very quickly OR a temperature that falls very quickly. This can sometimes trigger a seizure or full body convulsion and can be dangerous in some ways. An extremely high body temperature is dangerous and can lead to permanent brain injury. Also, during the seizure a person may hit their head, vomit and inhale the vomit into their lungs, etc. all of which could be life-threatening. All febrile seizures should be evaluated by a physician. If a child has a febrile seizure there is only a small correlation of developing a seizure disorder as an adult.
You mean a febrile seizure? A very high fever can cause seizures, especially in children, and although the fever that causes them is dangerous and should be treated, once the acute cause is dealt with, there is usually not any subsequent seizures.
