Answer:
Hospice is a place termianally ill people go to die. Often, they are given lots of pain medicine to dull pain they may be in from cancer or other diseases.
A hospice is a place where terminally ill people are cared for before their death.
Hospice is an institution or agency for end of life care. The treatment plans are oriented toward pain management and comfort, not cure. To be admitted to a hospice, a doctor must have diagnosed that you have six months or less to live.
Hospice care can be done in a variety of settings. Some hospices are contained in hospitals, some are in settings similar to a hospital, some are on an "in home" care model.
Some provide nursing care almost exclusively, others have counseling services available as well.
The types of payment, and/or insurance accepted also vary widely.
About a gallon... sorry, couldn't resist that one.
A hospice is a care center for the terminally ill. The best thing you can do is visit one, as I am sure they are looking for volunteers. Visit one in your local area, and see if you can get an employee or executive from that hospice to come and speak to your group.
A hospice is where people who are terminally ill go to be comforted in their last days/weeks/months of their lives.
