When I eat to much shrimp I get a sharp pain and I double over puking I at times have had these symptoms for 1 week or 2 weeks and after many blood tests and check ups the doctor said just stay away from shrimp. Oddly I had the same symptoms after a surgery I had. I will talk to my doctor on my next visit but was wondering if it could be a sign of something serious. Thanks.

stay away from shrimp (and check other shellfish to be safe). a friend of mine was slightly allergic to shrimp but ate them anyway. well one day at a party she had shrimp, then went upstairs and apparently went into anaphylactic shock even after using her epi-pen and has been braindead now for 11 years.

it has something to do with the iodine levels in shellfish, and if they used any iodine on the incision during your surgery it could have produced the same reaction

Seems as though shrimp has something in it that your body flatly rejects, just like my body flatly rejects tuna. If I touch tuna, I break out in hives all over my skin. Weird, but true. Everyone in my family knows never to give me a tuna sandwich after a long hike in the mountains. Every other seafood is fine. Beats me how that works, but it works that way, just the same. The way I've learned never to argue with my body and instead listen to what it tells me, I would advise you of the same, my friend. Your body, for some odd reason, flatly rejects shrimp. Don't eat it for whatever reason. It really doesn't matter if you never find out the reason, although it would be interesting to know. I don't know why my body rejects tuna, but I will never ever make the mistake and ignore my body's responses again. No tuna for me..No shrimp for you.Period.
