I have tried all sorts of sun blocks, creams, etc, none helps much. have been told it is something to do with pores not closing quickly enough after sweating, and antihistmine tablets help. Do they ? and do you need a G Ps prescription ?

Answer:

You may have photo sensitivity- a sensitivity to sun light. You should see a doctor, but an antihistamine such as Benedryl could help.

You should really see a Dermatologist to make sure you don't have the early onset signs of Skin Cancer, which is caused by prolonged exposure to the sun over a long period of time.

If you skin is sensitive to the sun, wear a big straw hat when you go to the beach or park, or outside for a long period of time.

The sun block creams you're using could actually be clogging your pores. Keep you face washed and clean. Use a mild soap like "Neutrogena" or "Clinique" products.

See a GP. Sounds like you should cover up and try to stay out of the sun. My friend has a similar problem and she takes Piriton for it whihc helps but she still has to cover up. You can buy this over the counter.

You have an allergic reaction to the Sun. My Mother has it and has skin cancer removed from her face and her shin? That was odd because she always covered up, the only way she can cope with the Sun, so how she managed skin cancer on her shin I do not know. Therefore wear long sleeve shirts and trousers, likewise a broad brimmed hat. I would also keep an eye on and lumps or bumps, get them checked by a GP just to be sure they are not cancer. Mum uses 'sun block' does not help her either.

You may be photo sensitive. Go and see your GP. If so, try and get a good sunscreen on prescription. I use Sunsense factor 60. I sill have to make sure that I cover up with long sleeves, sunglasses and a hat.
