Tingling is also known as parasthesia, and can be caused by many things. , or it could be the sign of something more serious.

A common cause of tingling is pressure on the cooresponding nerve. This could be due to a spinal problem, or it could be be something simple like your socks being too tight or your wallet in your back pocket. Other neurological disorders may also need to be ruled out.

Circulatory problems such as Atherosclerosis can also cause this symptom. As can metabolic disorders including Diabetes, Hypothyroidism and Hypoparathyroidism. It can also be a sign of certain vitamin deficiencies.

Due to the wide range of possible causes I recommend you see your GP, who may carry out certain tests, or refer you to a specialist. Before you go it is worth taking note of the pattern of your symptoms, such as when they occur, what you are doing when they happen etc.
