What can you say when visiting a dying relative

I have a close relative that has cancer and has only days to live - it will be the last time that I will see them. They are aware that they don't have long to live. What should I say to them?

Answer:

that u love them and will never forget them.

just carry on as normal as though they arnt dying. its gonna be awkward i'm sure but sitting in silence cos you dont know what to say or how to act will make it worse. so just be yourself. chat about everyday things and take their mind off the fact they're dying as much as is possible in that situation.
You could actually tell that person how much they mean to you and that they are in your thoughts and prayers.

I'm sure just your visit will mean the world to them.

Do not treat them any differently than you normally would. Tell them you love them and whatever you feel like sharing. Answer any questions they ask you with honesty and know that whatever you say it will be the right thing.

Take care and you are in my prayers.

You could try a "remember when" conversation. Before you go, think about things that happened in the past, amusing things if possible, and bring them into the conversation. Hopefully it will trigger a train of such memories in your relative too.

Good luck, it's an awful time isn't it.

ask if there is anything that they want or that you can do for them. then tell them you love them and will never forget them, talk about old times and people that you both know ,just be kind and thoughtful
