What can you do to get better if you are rundown and how long does it take to get back to full healt
Since Febuary this year Ive been getting sore throats on and off. I went to the doctor who just gave me antibiotics. I went to the doctor a secound time and my glands hadnt swollen, No tonsillitis just a really red sore throat. She said that I may be rundown. and thats why I keep getting sore throats and viruses. She advised me to do more exercises. get my body back up again. If im run down and very tired & low on energy, how am I supposed to do exercises without feeling tired the next day? I have a lot of unfinished buisness with an ex boyfriend plus just moved out of my parents into my first flat. So i guess this is attributing to being run down. Im normally an otherwise fit and healthy 27 year old. But it seems my emotional state is contributing to my phisical heath. Ive had councelling so Its not councelling I need.
Answer:I check out about 100 patients a year who are complaining of non specific tiredness.
Like most GPs I do ' a tiredness screen ' this involves about a dozen blood tests. Before I do it, I warn the patient that I will only pick up an abnormality in 10% and that half of those will not be treatable.
The commonest things to pick up in the treatable group are anaemia, diabetes, thyroid disease, occult infections and very rarely tumours and haematological malignancies.
In the untreatable group the majority show evidence of white cell and immunoglobulin supression due to virus infections.
It is worth getting a screen, but be aware nothing will be found in 90%.
take a holiday in the sun, alone, try to put things that are botherin you out of you head for a while, worryin doesnt help anything, make sure you are eating healthily 2, lots of fruit nd veg
The simple answer is you just gotta fight on cos thats life! No doubt there'll be loadsa of people answer this recommending all sorts of medicines, herbs, exercises. All it comes down to is thats just life and you got to make the best of it. Ive had a sore throat for 17 years so you've got nothing to complain about!
hundreds if not thousands of folk have the same thing I'm getting over mine after 6 months and two lots of anti biotics but it will eventually go away but you have to put some effort into it as well your attitude is of one that you think the world is taking it out on you only so come on make an effort and it will HELP you Hybrid Good Luck
You just gotta relax more - get rid of as much stress as you can in your life. If you haven't got a lot of energy just do some light exercise - go for a walk somewhere. Maybe find a less stressful job if you can
I'd first make sure that my diet was especially healthy. When i first moved away from home I didn't eat very well at all--skipping meals, snacking, etc.
As far as exercise, I'd start with walking a short while, even 10 to 15 minutes and then gradually increase the amount.
Are you getting enough sleep? That's important to get your immune system back up.
Did your doctor do tests to determine your overall health? (yahoo won't let me write "b_ _ _ d" work--the red stuff flowing through your veins). There could be physical problems, as a thyroid problem, that is keeping you run down and making you more susceptible to getting sore throats.
After you've done everything you can to get your general health up to par, if you get sick again I'd go to another doctor.
