What can i do for my insomnia
I changed jobs and i work at 4am, I been at this for about 6 months now, everything was going good till about 2 weeks ago. now i slept around 9 hours in the past 4 days total. I have trouble falling asleep since all i can think about is that I didnt get sleep from the Night before, I hear people say. "just dont think about it, or just relax" but that does nothing for me. My Doc gave me ambien but I dont want to have be habbit forming. So i have not taken it,
I need to sleep Can someone help me?
Answer:Call your MD today. They should listen to you and offer you their best advice (and medicine) to have handy if you just lay there.
They say to get up and do something like say go read for a little while - get a warm drink of milk.
I suffered from this last year it was pathetic. I also have friends who suffer and all of our doctors have been supportive. With listening and medicine.
You need sleep it effects everything.
Until your appointment take a bath and unwind or a shower.
Read or watch TV until you fall asleep and try to set a schedule to do so (routine)..

I'm not sure what shifts you work, but do not exercise for 1hour before going to sleep, meditate for appx. 30minutes before going to sleep. Eat a healthy diet daily. Eliminate 75% of empty calories from your diet. If you're a religious person, read your bible and you will definitly fall to sleep and stay asleep.
