What are things you can do to help feel better when you have fibromyalgia
Swimming is great, but make sure it's a in a hot water pool, one that is at least 90 degrees. We need the extra warmth. Simply floating in the warm water can ease muscle tension and super relaxing.
Whirlpools and hot showers with massage heads are awesome too. Massages that are *specifically* for myofascia pain release help a lot too. The last thing you need is one of those hard massages.
Biofeedback and meditation for relaxtion have helped me tremendously. My usually won't even cover much of anything ins. co. covered the biofeedback sessions.
Some people find relief with acupuncture, but I'm too chicken to ever have tried it.
The supplement D-Ribose is also awesome. It's a naturally occurring sugar in the body. it's the D in our DNA. It helps rebuild the minor tears in the muscles that happen daily. Those don't get repair w/ fibro because we don't get the deep sleep. It's given to heart patients after surgery. However, if you're diabetic, check with your doctors because it *is* a sugar.
A healthy diet helps everyone. So does avoiding stress. Yes, that last one can be done somewhat. Get rid of, or at least lessen contact, with the negative people in your life. Take time to relax each day, just some simple quiet time works wonders.
Good Luck. This isn't an easy illness to live with, but it can done.
go swimming. when you are in the water, the weight is lifted off of all your joints. it give your muscles a chance to relax and stretch out.
