I am a african american who is growing an afro and i have little bumps on my head that itch sometimes any idea what they could be or what is causing them.

Sounds like they could be the typical "bumps" that some afro-americans get on their faces and heads. My husband has them. They are usually caused by ingrown hairs and are more prone to afro-americans because of the coarser and curlier hair types.

It could be ingrown hairs...try a tea tree oil medicated shampoo that should help any irritation...if not see a dermatoligist

Could be caused by either the shampoo or hair gel.Now I use no gel and changed shampoo and bumps are going away.Could be a fungus.
