Prognosis is guarded at best for a woman with stage 4 ovarian cancer. That does not mean she might not have years to live but typically by the time someone reaches stage four disease they already know they are very ill with an indefinite prognosis.

It is hard to say, everyones illness occurs differently.

God Bless.

Statistics are useless for individual patients. Everyone is totally different. Someone with a stage I disease could die while someone with a stage IV survives. Much depends on the age of the patient, their response to treatment, and their overall health. Remission and survival is possible for a stage IV ovarian cancer patient, though it will be quite a battle. Never give up hope, but look at many different options, do the research, and live one day at a time. Remember . . individuals are NOT statistics.

One treatment for advanced ovarian cancer is called intra-peritoneal hyperthermic chemoperfusion. You might want to investigate it further:

Good luck.
