i know someone who has a partner who has herpes, and she had sex with him, for three hours, and he has the signs of herpes on the face. what are the chances that she will have it? even if they used a condom?

Answer:

anytime you have sex with someone with herpes with or without an outbreak..you are at risk of catching it. Even with a condom there is a risk because not all areas can be covered with a condom.

PS meeeshka2 you are very misinformed to say there is no herpes of the face...herpes simplex 1 lives in the nerves of the face..also you can get ocular herpes (herpes of the eye) from herpes simplex 1...

please do your homework before you answer these type of questions.

Herpes on the face? Well, if she came in contact with the open sores either in her genitals or mouth, then I'd say it's a pretty good chance.

does she know whether she actually has it? alot of people get herpes, the oral kind as children and many dont have syptoms when they actually become sexually active. so if she has that it will make it alot harder for her to get herpes. also just because she had sex for 3 hours doesnt mean she will get it. herpes is passed through skin to skin contact and its easiest to get when a person has an outbreak. so if he has one and they have sex her chances go way up. if he has say a cold sore and they dont kiss during sex or do anything oral then its less likely she will get it.

there is no herpes on the FACE. there is herpes on the lips and genitals.There is a daily medication a person with herpes can take so it is harder to spread it to my partner, also i use condoms. If your friend must have sex with an infected person tell her to use condoms and make sure he doesnt have any open sores AND he must be taking VALTREX. with a condom and valtrex the chances of not catching the UNCURABLE disease are about 98% ... without condoms and valtrex, well your simply just doomed for a life of pain and no relationships. please trust my advice, i know first hand if you know what i mean. :[
