What ARE eating disorders

Answer:

Clinical names for eating disorders are 'anorexia nervosa' and 'bullimia'. They are seen as psychological or 'mental' disorders and are found in what is called the DSM-diagnostic manual.

I also argue that they are social disorders in that those afflicted use anorexia and bullemia as a form of self-control either as an alternative to or in tandem with alcohol, drugs, criminal activity, promiscuity, and/or self-mutilation.

Anorexics have a 'morphed' sense of the body in that although they ARE normal and/or thin, they see themselves as fat. They control their intake of food in order to LOSE weight to the point of starvation. Over time, anorexics appear extremely thin. If they do not seek and/or accept treatment, they will die.

Bullemics may suffer from the same sense of body image, but over-eat or 'binge', and then throw it up or 'purge' to lose or prevent gaining weight. Bullemics appear normal in size. If not treated, bullemia can cause extreme problems with digestion, ulcers, tooth decay. Bullemia may or may not lead to anorexia.

anorexia, bulemia, obesity... & many more
people who are belimic or anorexic or depressed eaters(real obese)

Emo teens looking for attention by starving themselves.
An eating disorder is improper consumtion of foods. Either you eat too little, not at all, or way too much. Your stomach at normal size is no bigger than your fist, so normal portion consumtion is no more than that. Any less is bad as well as any more.
