I have Scoliosis, and just had my Scoliosis Surgery four months ago, because my curve had reached 58 degrees. My scoliosis was not diagnosed until I was 17 and a half (it was around 40 degrees then). I go back to the doctor next month to see what my curve is now, and to be cleared to go back to physical therapy.

I don't know anyone who got worse but I do someone who improved mightily. She does Qigong (non-martial) and over 3-5 years notable improvement proved by x-rays, now nearly corrected. Don't assume nothing can be done. There are answers out there.

I met and heard of many people's scoliosis that has gotten much better. Mine on the other hand has gotten worse. 3 years ago I had harrington rods placed in and now my spine is continuing to curve. My curvature is the same as it was prior to my surgery if not worse now. This is because of a disease I was told that will make me continue to curve slightly for the rest of my life. This is rare...

Scoliosis is a curvature of the spine. I have double scoliosis, and was told since childhood that I would end up with a back brace and being unable to walk. Instead, I took lots of classes in how to stand, appropriately. I did exercises to help my back. I never had to wear the back brace, and I walk without anyone realizing I have double scoliosis. Sometimes, my back hurts, but, that is the extent of it.
