We all give to cancer cure seeking charities but

why is it when they find something to fight cancer, a lot of the time the N.h.s cant or wont fund it for patients. Surely we are not trying to find a cure just for the wealthier members of society?

Answer:

Sure we are. It takes years for the rest of us to gain access to new treatments. Sucks but true. I lost my father 2 years ago to cancer, my sister has inoperable brain tumor, I battled cancer for 3 yrs.

Insurance was worse than the illness. Every thing, no matter what, was rubber stamped "experimental" and therefor not covered. Then you spend 3 months spending precious time and energy convincing them they are full of it!

Yes of course we are. much like all the of other illnesses! But that's just how life is...
If you are American, yes you are. Give to international researchers. I think it's morally wrong to give to American medical researchers. The politics make me sick.
i saw it on telly this morning bout the man who's dying of cancer and has to pay 拢3000 every 6weeks too prolong his life-its disgusting. bring back hanging- we'll save money on buying sky and playstations for prisoners and maybe have enough money to pay for hardworking members of the public who tragically fall ill and cant afford treatment
Received nothing in return because we are poor.
Cancer has been around for so many years , how come they have not found a cure yet ? { Cancer in my family }
unfortunately money talks, thats just the way it is. blame the pharmacutical companies who are capitalising on the obvious demand for such drugs. there is only so much money available for the nhs. when beveridge introduced the welfare state he didnt take into account the longer life spans accounting to more money being spent on welfare, nor did he expect possibly nievely that ppl would spend their whole lives on benifit and not contribute to the state. postcode lottery's also come into it, whats available in one district might not be available in another. i find the more wealthier members of society tend to use private health care which just serves to create a two tier health system which is slowly creeeping into the nhs.
We give the money to charities, but the corporations doing the trials funded by our money do not give it back to the charities, or the NHS. It is often sold at an extortionate rate, particularly when first available.
