Understanding HIV results

Are HIV results always categorical in nature? I got mine back yesterday and it said "No antibodies found". With a positive result, would it also simply say "Antibodies found."? Or would there be a numerical aspect with the positive results?

Answer:

To understand your tests results you would have to find out what they actually indicate. The prevailing mainstream approach is that HIV antibodies are a reliable evidence for the presence of the virus. Mainstream reports go on to say, 鈥淪ince 鈥楬IV鈥?antibodies were discovered by looking at the blood of people with AIDS.鈥? Therefore, their assumptions that antibodies indicate the presence of active virus had already been made. So in all actuality, there鈥檚 nothing that could indicate definitively whether you or anyone else's test is anything but a measurement of antibodies to a huge variety of other things too.

Most positive HIV results will come back saying HIV antibodies found,Then you could the a viral load test to tell you how much of the virus is in your blood.Remember HIV tests don't test for HIV itself,They test for HIV antibodies Which is what your immune system make to try and fight off HIV.It can take 30-90days (some say even longer)for your body to produce enough antibodies to show uo in the test,That is why there is whats called the window period.STAY WELL,STAY INFORMED .I hope this helps you
There would not ba any numerical data with a positive HIV result during an HIV screening. The screen is just detecting whether or not antibody to HIV is present. If antibodies to HIV are found, then additional tests are done, and those tests will have more detailed information than just, "no antibodies found".
