Two weeks ago my moms blood creatinine level was 3 now it is 6 8 what does this mean

She is in the hospital now - They said she is in failure - but how high is way too high - Do you know someone that had a higher blood creatinine than 6? What happens if it gets higher? She just turned 60 and the other day she went 'Code Blue' and they had to use the paddels to get her heart back - but they still don't know why that happened - the doctor said the kidneys may be causeing some heart problems...?

It was 3 two weeks ago then wednesday it was 6.8, then 5.9 then 6.2.

thank you so much

personal experience would be so great !

At 10 they put you on dialysis as by then the kidneys are in failure and can no longer clean the urine.

The kidneys may be pushing a lot uremic poison into your moms system and that may have caused the heart to stop. Or that could be caused by something entirely different but in treating her for that they found the kidney problems.

You and all members of your family should go and be checked to see if you are a match in case your mom needs a transplant. Many people die every year because a new kidney is not available so even if you dont match your Mom you may match someone else.

Good luck to you and your family.

She is in renal or kidney failure. Could be caused by many things. The kidneys are not filtering or removing the toxins in her body. Sounds like she needs dialysis to remove these toxins, "clean her blood". This is very serious, talk to her doctors.
