Two different types of pill in perscription

I was shaking a pill out into hy hand and a few came out all at once. I noticed that some had one id number (or whatever) and some had another. Is this normal (mixing types) or did the pharmacy make a mistake?
Answer:More than likely, the pharmacy ran out of tablets in one bottle while filling your prescription. They finished it with another bottle, and thus different lot numbers. While it is universally frowned upon to mix medications from different manufacturors, the opinion is more mixed when it comes to lots.
take it up to the pharmacy and ask them.
I'd take it in to the pharmacy because it sounds like a either a different type of medication got mixed in, or they put two different brands made by two different companies in to fill your script. I would check just to be sure, med errors can be dangerous.
This could be as simple as a different lot number at the pill manufacturers. It would be a ood idea to ask your pharmacist tho, in case of a mistake in your prescription.
it is not a 'normal' thing, but happens when our wholesaler switches the manufacturer of a particular drug. Evenutally, somebody has to get the last of the old and the first of the new.
