Hi there..as the above answers state-flu is flu..

we say here that when a man gets a cold its man flu ;0)

Maybe this is what you have heard..

my female coworkers say this because one sniffle from the men and they complain they are dying and need sympathy however when us woman complain about periods and the like we are told we are just "woman" and stop moaning lol so hence man flu ...lol

Men become needy and want their mum :-) Sorry if that offends anyone (I am not a man hater BTW) just what we say where I work ;-) not sure about woman flu lol maybe a mans expression for all womans complaints lol
