does putting toothpaste on your face help with acne? if so does it matter what kind of tooth paste?

i have never heard of that before... but i wouldnt think so
i've tried it and didn't see much of a difference. you have to use the regular (non gel) type. i was told that crushing an aspirin and mixing it with enough water to make a paste will heal bumps and bug bites. try that...
I've heard it does because it acts as a drying agent on the oil from the acne.

This is an old wives tale. Toothpaste does not help with acne, and sometimes it even hurts by drying out your face.

It dries out your skin. Leave it on overnight, and it dehydrates the zit and absorbs oil. Use a white paste, and not a gel. Don't use a whitening paste either, those tend to burn when left on. It works best when the pimple has come to a head.
The down side is that a lot of people have a reaction, so its a good idea to try it out on an out of sight zit to see if it works for you.
My friend swears by this, but it doesn't work for everyone. I recommend just sticking with the usual treatments.
