Answer:

Try lowering the contrast of your monitor, and use an OTC eye relief produce like visine. Failing that, you may need to have an eye exam and get specialized "computer" glasses. Usually this is a symptom of uneven focusing of you eyes. An optometrist will be able to find out. An exam is around 50 buck or so.

When we work on the computer, we tend to stare and not to blink as often as we should. The lubrication decreases and our eyes become dry, irritated and painful. You need to replenish the moisture from your eyes drying out. A good way to do that is artificial tears every hour. Keep the small bottle of artificial tears (eye drops) next to the computer and try putting one drop in each eye every hour. If this doesn't work and you still have pain..go see an ophthalmologist to diagnose your problem. Good luck!
Long hours staring at a computer screen, reading, writing, doing beadwork, sewing, tying flies, repairing electronics equipment, or any close and detailed work can lead to eye strain from overuse. Soreness of the muscles around the eyeballs, weak or blurry vision, burning, watering, and oversensitivity to light are common symptoms. Discomfort from minor eye irritations (from smoke, pollutants, smog, or pollens), slight abrasions (from contact lenses, sand, or dirt), or bruising injuries can also often be relieved with homeopathy.
