My mom has problems with tingling/numbness in her hands, but only when there is pressure on her upper back (usually when driving). I've read that tingling/numbness in the hands can be a symptom of type 2 diabetes, and she did have Gestational diabetes (diabetes that comes and goes with pregnancy). She's in her late 40's.
Answer:Yes, i agree with patrons' answers. This is something that a doctor should be answering, not the general public.
Many things can cause this, but especially poor circulation I would recommend that she see a doctor as combined with the back pain, there could be an underlying condition.
Definitely see a doc. I have a girlfriend whose feet tingled only when she looked down. She was diagnosed with MS. I have tingling in all limbs resulting from pinched nerves in my back. I am in my mid-40's.
Good luck in finding help for your mom!
