Ticks Couple questions
I was in the forest yesterday and woke up this morning with a tick on my face that i did not see before i went to bed and i was able to just pick it off really easily it wasnt stuck or anything. Am im gonna be ok? I heard ticks have lyme disease. Are there certain ticks that have it or all of them?
Answer:they say the sooner you get it off the better- the thing to keep an eye on where you were bit for the next two weeks is a bulls eye looking rash. Yes its just certain ticks-the small black deer ticks. i was asked to save the tick and bring it in to the doctor with me in a plastic bag. doesn't sound like you were actually bit- but just in case like i said keep an eye on it.
You should be okay- mine was on my back and i didn't see it for sometime. Lyme disease isn't fun. i wouldn't wish this on anybody
only one kind of tick will give it to you. it wasn't stuck yet because it probably was crawling from another spot. check yourself out pretty carefully. good luck.

Not all ticks carry Lyme disease, but I'd wipe the area with alcohol and cotton ball just to be safe.
Coincidentally, I just received an email stating that to remove a tick, put a big "glop" of liquid soap on a cotton ball and place it right on the tick. You leave it there for a minute or so and it draws the tick out. I haven't had the opportunity to try it yet, but it's just something to keep in mind.

You'll be alright. I usually get headaches if a tick gets stuck on me. Not all ticks carry the disease and I think it is rare. Or I'd be dead by now or very ill anyway. When we go out to the woods and then later that night or next morning I end up with a headache I immediately go searching for a tick and sure enough!! I remove it and clean the area off with alcohol and go on with life. I think I have an allergic reaction to them, I am the only one I know who gets headaches from them.
