Throat Questionmono or strep
I had a sinus infection 4 weeks ago, that went away. As I was healing , I was under a lot of stress from my ex & also makin a career change. A week later from that point, I had terrible sore throat. I ignored it all weekend & took tons o f painkillers( b/c of my bad insurance coverage). Sun night, my temp shot to 107* . The er gave me a booty shot for rapid treatment of the strep. 2 days later, I felt much worse & I could barely swallow. That time the er gave me 2 IVs , tested my white blood cells & for mono. Both tests came back ok, so they gave me Clymidicin for 10 days. 3 day later ,my glands are still swollen & I have white spots n my throat. I feel a little better, but my energy is drained! I wasn't too concerned until someone told me, that mono tests don't test positive until after the infections been in your body a certain amount of time. They told me the antibiotic I'm on is very strong & should be making my throat feel better by now.Any REAL medical people, I want YOUR adv.
Answer:I have been through the same thing, I had a sore throat for about a month. Eat lots of hot soup, and take those antibiotics. Don't worry about what's causing the infection, just worry about healing it. I doubt it's mono.

go back and get the test redone
Go back to your doctor. Not every antibiotic works for every germ.
