More often than not, sleep paralysis is believed by the person affected by it to be no more than a dream. This explains many dream recountings which describe the person lying frozen and unable to move. The hallucinatory element to sleep paralysis makes it even more likely that someone will interpret the experience as a dream, since completely fanciful objects may appear in the room alongside one's normal vision.

Um.yes I have had that happen.

I don't like to talk about it because I'm afraid people will think I'm wierd. But this is my honest opinion of this..and I'm totally serious.

I say it's demons taking hold of you. And it scares the holy crap right out of you. I haven't had it happen for years, but I remember it well and will never forget it as long as I live. It only happened in one place I lived. So I kinda believe that it didn't like me being there. But it happened frequently while I lived there. After I moved, it has never happened since.

So there ya have it in a nutshell. My version of what is happening to you. Hope you don't think I'm wierd, but you asked a question and I answered honestly. Thought you'd like to know. Actually, I thought you "should" know. Good luck.

I sounds like a sleep disorder. Your body paralyzes itself when you dream to protect you from acting out your dreams, but you may become conscious during the paralysis phase of sleep due to a mixing of the signals. THe buzzing sensation and extreme fears would make sense because you are supposed to be dreaming, but you are conscious. This is not normally supposed to happen.
