I have taking medicines that loosen phlegm, but i have no phlegm, i have and irratation, not a strong, but it irratates enough for me to cough i, i tried lots of thing and suggestions out there?

If you don't have any other symptoms (weakness, fever, muscle aches, etc. that may indicate a serious illness) you may be having a very strong allergic reaction to something in the air. I had a similar cough for two months; couldn't shake it, kept trying OTC meds and bed rest, but it never got better on its own. Finally broke down and went to the doc; she gave me allergy meds and a steroid shot, and it was gone.
