I went to the salon on May1 tuesday. and todays thursday May3. That is my first time tanning in a tanning salon and after i came out i had a burn on my body. Today, my whole body feel itchy and what can i do to make it go away? and how long does it have to go away? What happens if you don't use lotion?!

Answer:

Depending on the type of bed you were in and how new the bulbs were could be the reason you are itchy. Basically what happened is that you burned past your third layer of skin and your body is trying to heal itself.

Try using some Solarcane to help with the itching and try not to re-tan for at least 4 days possible 5 depending on how red you were when you got out. Next time I suggest using a bronzer tanning lotion to help speed up the tanning process and reduce your time to 5 minutes and then go every other day and increase 1 minute at a time no more than 2 minutes at a time.

The Bronzer will give you a quicker tan for less time spent cooking.

Best thing to help with the itching right now...take shower as hot as you can handle it for about 10 minutes...come out and immediately apply a good aloe based lotion while you are still damp wet. This will help your body to gain back some of the moisture you cooked out of it and drink lots of WATER.

I am an avid tanner and sometime the tanning salon will not tell you if they have just changes the bulbs in the bed. If they are newer you will burn.always ask, and state maybe you want a bed that has been used a few more hours so you dont fry like you just did. But in the mean time use the Solarcane that you can buy in Walmart or Walgreens...just about any place that has a pharmacy.
