okay, I am with the "short, daily walks and elevate your legs" crowd, but also because of your weight and/or elevated BP, I would think diet and detox. I am not saying you need to diet...I don't believe in "dieting" to lose weight, I believe in lifestyle choices. I think swimming would be the exercise of choice be/c of the cool water and not adding to the gravity problem. Also, look at detoxing (maybe your liver/kidneys are overworked causing electrolyte imbalace) My husband has high BP and weight issues and he LOVES the Master CLeanser detox...and feels SOOO much better. My sister has lost almost 100lbs. in part, using the Master Cleanser. If I were you, I would start with the master cleanse, then slowly modify my diet to eating several small snacks a day...including protein...maybe a hard boiled egg, apples, and soy cheese/yogurt, etc. and check out the books "Eat right for your type" or "Makers Diet" and modify them to suit your needs. I know a doc. who swears by the "eat right" diet and puts ALL his patients on it. GOOD LUCK.
Swolling ankles are a form of edema. An abnormal excess accumulation of serious fluid in connective tissue or in a serous cavities. I'm overweight and get swelling in my ankles and feet at times. Also eating to much salt can give you swollen ankles.
I would go to my doctor if I was you and tell him you are not having any pain its just ugly to look at and see what he says about some kind of surgery or something like that. I have never heard of somebody with swollen feet and it doesnt hurt. My motherinlaw has it to but now she hurts her legs and her feetstay swollen she has to prop her feet and legs when she sits all the time. Shes on pain meds to because it hurts her bad!! I hope all goes well for you take care
