Sunburn/peeling

health advisory Hospital Diseases 2007-11-12 20:35:52

Last saturday I went to a wedding on the beach, and was out in the sun for about 6 and a half hours with no sun block. The first few days It hurt to do anything, or be touched. Now, almost a week later, I'm starting to peel and my skin feels raw in some places, what should I do?

Answer:

an exfoilator would help the peeling finish faster. use that while you shower. then pat dry and use lotion. that should help it be done with sooner

buy some aloe vera that will make it feel better. Also wear sunblock and stay out of the sun!!)
Two words, Aloe Vera.
Lots of lotion. Apply three times daily. Also make sure you wear sun block when your out in the sun. Good Luck!
there is nothing you can do. sunburns go through that cycle no matter what. you've just got to deal with it even though it sucks.
Aloe Vera and lotion. You need to use a good Lotion like Neutrogena..
Aloe Vera will take care out the pain, but as for peeling maybe lotion would help. I'm very pale and I burn if I'm even out in the sun for half an hour but I have never peeled. Aloe Vera will defiantly take care of the burning and stinging though.
use Vaseline to help sothe and heal if that does not work go to the doctor
Use natural Aloe Vera, if you can get the plant itself that would be best. Split the leaves and rub the sticky/slimy (it's does feel a bit icky) on the affected areas. It will help relieve the burn and also help moisturize the dry areas.

If you can't get the plant look for 100% Aloe Vera gel in Walgreens, CVS or other local drugstore.

Wishing you a speedy recovery...

Take oatmeal baths, they'll relieve the itching and dryness. Look for Aveeno Oatmeal at the drug store.
